are a small farm focused on breeding straight Egyptian Arabians.
We originally started out with Spanish bred Arabians, but while
looking for a straight Egyptian stallion to cross on our Spanish mares
to hopefully create our own version of *El Shaklan, we ran across MB
Talmaar. He had everything our Spanish mares needed.
Instead of doing the wise thing and purchasing breedings to see
if the cross would work, we purchased Talmaar, but we have never
We purchased him based on his phenotype and the anticipation of how he
would cross with our Spanish mares. We knew very little of his
champion studded pedigree and absolutely nothing of his wonderful show
record. All of this was learned once we brought him home and
began researching the horses in his pedigree and his show record.
We only bred him to one of our Spanish mares when the decision
was made to find straight Egyptian girlfriends for him. Once the
SE babies started arriving, we were sold and began to disperse our
Spanish bloodstock and convert to the straight Egyptian Arabians.
With our numbers down, we finally feel comfortable to once again breed
a few horses. 2010 will see the arrival of two foals out of
Talmaar daughters, a first for us and something for which we have
waited years. Talmaar daughters can be found in some of the
most prestigious SE farms in the world and have been very good
producers. We can't wait to see how ours produce and we are excited beyond
belief. We are also breeding a few mares for 2011 foals.
I'm lousy at taking pictures, but once the babies arrive, I will do my
best to get some good shots posted. Please visit us again in late
May/early June of 2010.
